To commemorate Seniors Week, Community Care and Active Parramatta Van are delivering FREE Pickleball sessions in Toongabbie in cooperation with the Pickleball Association of NSW.

Celebrate the Seniors Week with Pickleball is a paddle sport that mixes badminton, table tennis, and tennis features. It’s a low-impact, simple-to-learn, and enjoyable approach to keep your heart and lungs healthy. Come alone or with a friend; sessions are mixed so that you can meet and play with a variety of people.
Parking -There is a parking lot just next to the courts.
Due to the City of Parramatta’s Fitness Training Guidelines, space is limited, and Council operates on a “first in, best dressed” principle. Registration is required.
The continuation of the program is contingent on participation rates and community enthusiasm.
Before facilitation, it is the participant’s responsibility to inform the facilitator of any medical difficulties or injuries. It is at the participants’ own risk to participate. Before beginning a new physical activity or exercise routine, participants should get medical approval.
COVID 19 Guidelines
- Please do not attend if you are sick and have signs of a cough, cold, or flu.
- Please do not attend if you have had contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the 14 days leading up to the session, or if health officials have advised you to stay at home.
- At all times, a social separation of 1.5m is in effect. Please refrain from congregating before and after the lesson.
- Before, during, and after the lesson, practice excellent hygiene and sanitize/clean areas of usage as needed.
- Check to see if you’re up to speed on government rules and public health orders.
FAQs
Is there a minimum age requirement?
Participants must be 55 years of age or older.
I’ve never played Pickleball before; is it difficult to pick up?
Pickleball is a sport that combines elements of tennis and badminton. Newcomers may quickly pick up the basics because of the large paddles, light balls, tiny court size, and short game times.
Is parking available at Binalong Park?
Yes. Parking is available right close to the courts.
What do I need to bring to each session?
Please dress comfortably in attire that does not impede your movement and that supports enclosed footwear such as trainers or joggers. A water bottle, towel, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are all advised.
What happens if it’s raining or the weather forecast calls for a change?
If the event is canceled due to inclement weather, you will be notified by text message to the mobile number/email address you provide up to 3 hours before the event begins.

We can’t wait to show you around the lovely STARSHIP AQUA. Meet at 12.30 p.m. for a departure at 1 p.m. At 5.00 p.m., return to the pier.
The number of guests has been limited for your health and safety, and we ask that only vaccinated people attend, with proof of vaccination supplied upon boarding.

The main deck of the Starship Aqua is encased in three-meter-high clear glass windows that provide a spectacular view of Sydney Harbour. Inside, it’s air-conditioned, and there’s a covered roof deck area outdoors, as well as various bars on both levels.
We will not be able to prolong our departure time if you arrive late, so please leave plenty of time for traffic and parking.
